Mark 6

Mar 6:48And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

I have just a short thought for my readers today.  Jesus, in this chapter has just finished feeding the five thousand.  Jesus has sent his disciples away while he goes to pray.  In the midst of a storm where the disciples are toiling and rowing on the sea, Jesus walks toward them.  Jesus would have gone past them to the other side, but they cried out.  This small section from Mark is truly amazing.  Application:  As we toil and row through the storms of life, there is one still on the sea with us.  He may not always be in the same boat, but he is still on the water.  All we have to do is cry out.  Storms may manifest themselves in may forms.  Maybe its your family that is the rocky sea.  Perhaps it is your workplace or school.  All you have to do is cry out.  You may not be rescued from the ship, but God can certainly calm down the sea.
